At Walker Crips, our employees will never request your account password or full debit/credit card details. If anyone does, it's a scam.

Always think twice before clicking on any link in an email or text message. If something looks suspicious, don’t engage. Our official links will always lead to our company website and contain correct spelling and grammar.

If you receive calls or texts threatening that your account will be suspended or deleted unless you act quickly, be wary. This is a common tactic used by scammers.

Reported scams using the Walker Crips name

Unfortunately, fraudsters sometimes misuse the Walker Crips name in their attempts to deceive individuals. To help you stay informed and protect yourself, we’ve compiled a list of known scams that have been reported to us. Please be cautious of any suspicious communications claiming to come from Walker Crips, and remember that we’ll never ask for sensitive information like passwords or pressure you into urgent actions.

Impersonation fraud warning (Instagram/Threads) - 02/10/2023

We have become aware of social media accounts impersonating Walker Crips and its employees. Criminals are using the accounts to approach prospective victims to advertise false investments and encourage the transfer of monies into a fraudulent bank account (using the bank details provided). Walker Crips, nor any of its representatives, will never contact you via any social media platform with any request for payment. Monies should only be sent to Walker Crips using the bank details provided to you upon account opening. The following social media channels for Walker Crips are genuine:

Unauthorised firm warning (“Walk Crypto”) - 09/01/2023

We have become aware that an unauthorised firm, going under the name of “Walk Crypto” may be providing financial services or products in the UK without the authorisation of the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”).

Almost all firms and individuals offering, promoting or selling financial services or products in the UK have to be authorised or registered by the FCA.

The firm detailed below is not authorised by the FCA and is reportedly targeting people in the UK. If you have any dealings with this firm you will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service (“FOS”) or be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (“FSCS”), so you are unlikely to get your money back if things go wrong.

How to protect yourself
Dealing with financial firms that are authorised or registered by the FCA gives you greater protection if things go wrong. Check the Financial Services (FS) Register to ensure they are authorised or registered by the FCA.

If you use an authorised firm or registered firm, access to the FOS and FSCS protection will depend on the investment you are making, the service the firm is providing, and the permissions the firm has.

Clone firm warning (“Walker Crips Weddle”) - 26/02/2021

Fraudsters are known to use the details of FCA authorised firms to try and convince consumers that they represent genuine, authorised firms. These fraudulent firms are known as “clone firms”.

Fraudsters often use this tactic when contacting people unexpectedly, so you should be especially wary if you have been ‘cold called’, or if you are contacted upon expressing interest in Walker Crips’ via a third-party website. They may use the name of genuine Walker Crips companies, including the 'firm reference number' (FRN) issued by the FCA or other details.

We have become aware that an unauthorised clone firm, going under the name of “Walker Crips Weddle” and using the address “Old Exchange House” has been targeting people claiming to be an authorised firm.
